It's not punny

I can feel the gray hair growing.

Terrible twos.

The time in a stay at home mom's life where she longs to go back to work. From the moment his pretty blue eyes open, the screaming starts.

Be consistent.

That's hard when the screaming breaks away at your heart. I feel like I'm doing everything wrong.

He doesn't want to be in his room. He doesn't want to take off his pull-up. He doesn't want to put on his underwear. He doesn't want milk, he wants juice. He doesn't want to sit in his booster seat. He doesn't want to eat with a spoon. He doesn't want to potty. He doesn't want to go upstairs... This is all within an hour.

No wonder I'm getting gray hairs!

And of course then he smiles at me. He bangs his spoon on the table to a beat. Then tells me that he is "punny". Yes, you are baby.

In other news, Miss Maddy is growing like a rose (normally you said weed...but she is far to pretty for that!). She is beginning to sit up now. She rolls constantly. She is noticing that she can rock herself when she she is laying down... Soon to be crawling I'm sure.

She'll be six months old soon. Where  did the time go? It's hard to believe.

Now I need more coffee. We got a Keurig. Delish!

To a great man:

Happy Father's Day!

I'm sitting upstairs rocking Maddy back to sleep and just thinking about what a great dad you are, Daniel.
Danny adores you so much. He waits by the window most afternoon searching for your "cool car" to come down the driveway.
He loves you putting him to bed at night when you guys have your little alone time.
He loves cooking with you on Sunday  mornings.
He loves when you take him on the little trips to the store, just the two of you.
He loves standing to pee-bc that's how you do it.
He loves electronics bc of you.

Maddy loves the sound of your voice.
She loves when you hold her and snuggle.
She loves when you play with her. You've seen those big smiles!
She may only be four months old, but I know she's going to be a daddy's little girl.

I love how much our children love you and how much you love them. You are a wonderful father.

Happy Father's Day, Daniel!

Warm water

We probably put too much on our plate this week. The kids are exhausted, I'm worn out, we've been driving too much...etc.

Recapping the potty training boot camp:
Well it didn't exactly work like we had hoped. I was hoping by day three there would be no accidents. That's what the blogs said at least.  But every child is different! That's what I've had to remind myself. Danny has been doing a good job tho. He had a lot of accidents yesterday. A lot while I was driving him around.

Today he has been stubborn. I'll ask if he has to use the bathroom, and he'll tell me no. After an hour, I started to panic! I knew he was going to pee on the floor. I sat there asking every few second and watched him get mad at me for asking so much. Finally, he yelled PEE PEE! I snatched him up and plopped him on the potty.

So far today, we've done really good.

We also started the kids on swim lessons this week! Danny is the same age I was when I took swim classes. Maddy is not yet four months, but they accept kids as young as 6 weeks.

So every night from 6-6:30, we've been dunking our kids under water and letting them float (and scream!!!!) on their backs. Danny has learned how to swim to the steps to get out of the pool. Also he is  learning how to swim to the wall and walk his hands across until he makes it to the steps.

Maddy hates it the whole time we are there. Danny hates it at first, then starts to enjoy it! That makes me happy because I love to swim and because Aunt Anna and Uncle Travis have a pool.

Big boy underpants!

We decided to start on a potty train adventure!

Danny is over two years old. He first started using the potty almost a year ago. Of course, back then it was randomly like once a month kinda deal. As he got older, he started using it more often.

Hubby and I decided to try the boot camp style potty training. He has Memorial Day off so we figured that would be the perfect weekend.

Today is day one.

Husband had to work this morning, so I am on my own.

This is very intimidating to do alone!! We've had a few accidents-which I expected and many successes. But it's very hard when you have an almost four month old that needs attention as well.

Half of me wants to just postpone it, but I'm tired of diapers and I'm stubborn!!! Of course, if he can't get it, that's ok. Im going to try though.

A pink world

Over two months ago, our world changed. Our beautiful daughter was born. I still look at her and marvel at how adorable she is!

I never thought I'd enjoy picking up cute pink outfits for her to wear. I swore I'd never put my daughter in the lacy socks my mom used to make us wear! Heck no!! But...those are so cute!!

Danny is doing well adjusting to another baby in the house. He has his moments when he wants me to pay attention to him but I need to feed Madeline. He loves helping take care of her though, which is great. He is very sweet to her too.

I truly feel blessed to have two wonderful children. God is amazing.
