Still in Carrollton...(bet you didn't see that one coming!). According to our loan officer, we are getting closer. I am so ready for this change it's not even funny.
A few weeks ago (or was it last week?), our landlord calls to ask how we wanted to go about people looking at the house. Never having done it before, I just let out a long "ummmm...". Then he said "How about I give them your number and let you guys set it up on your own time."
Perfect. Or so it seemed.
The first people came. Two sisters. They checked out the place, we told them about the landlord. La la la. They wanted to come back but bring their uncle who was a contractor, which was fine. Then they called back and said they found another place.
A few days later, this guy comes over to look at the place while Daniel was home. He liked the place too.
The next day, I'm off work wandering around the house in my sexy flannel pajamas and huge sweater. My hair still had that "just got up" look. The dogs started barking up a storm. Figuring they were barking at the stupid neighbors, I brought them inside but they continued to bark. I looked out the window at a young lady, man, and baby coming down the driveway. Crap.
When I opened the door and peeked out, the lady said "I'm sorry to show up unannounced, but your landlord said if there was a car in the driveway we could come by."
If there's a car in the driveway??? I'm sorry?
I let them in, apologizing for the mess and my appearance. They seemed to like the place too.
Earlier this week, Daniel had another guy come by to look at the place. Plus there was the drummer guy, his girlfriend and her little sister... they called ahead of time.
Today, Daniel gets a phone call from the landlord saying someone was sitting at the top of our driveway wanting to check the place out. Daniel was on his way to work, I had just got off work and was dead asleep. Daniel looked out the window but no one was up there...so he left.
Suddenly the dogs start barking and barking and barking!! Guess those people came out of hiding finally. I didn't get up.
I understand that you want to find someone else to move into the house. I got that, I really do. But you have NO right to tell someone just to show up if there is a car in the driveway! What the heck?? Some people have lives! Not me, but other people do! The last thing I want to do when I get off work is to let someone in to look at this house. Get a flippin' grip!
So basically, I'm really ready to get out of this house... Can you tell?

Standing Still
We still haven't moved an inch. I'm getting a little frustrated. I feel like we should have been there already. We should already have the place painted, already have our stuff arranged nicely. Already have curtains hung and a few pictures ready to be put up somewhere...
Yet here we are almost a week past the original closing date and they are still "backed up". And in the mean time, I think Jimmy is getting impatient. I mean we sent off the 30 day notice at the end of December and here it is the middle of January and his tenants haven't budged.
I'm just tired of driving so far to work.
Tired of this extremely freezing house.
Tired of worrying if we will even get the house...
Ugh.

Packin' up
We've got about fifteen boxes and a disasterous house so far. Still waiting on the underwriters to get back to us. I'm halfway scared that we are "counting our chickens before they hatch" by packing everything up. On the other hand, our landlord called today to say that he has someone interested in the house and she wants to look at it. So those eggs are already screwed if things don't go right. No idea what will happen...guess that's why it's best just to trust in God.
I think the scariest part is the wait. We are having to wait for the underwriter who is basically either going to bless us with a new life or make us crash and burn. We should be fine...I'll just continue to pray!
On to a more fun topic: My Pups! Here's a picture of my babies (Hey! I just figured out I could do this!)

(Sky up top...Cassie and Brandie on the right) Now I love my dogs to death. They are absolutely wonderful. They are (most of the time) well behaved dogs who provide me with hours of entertainment. However...
I saw a pup on craigslist that I'd really really love. She's absolutely beautiful! Her name is Yuki. She's over in Athens at the pound. *sigh* Sometimes I hate being a dog lover because I really want her! I mean I know we are moving now, so it's not really the best time...but I still want her... Plus she is a husky (my fav!) and she has blue eyes! Her little profile says she's a very obediant dog and she follows around all the families that come in. She just wants a home! I'd love it to be my home...
Ok time to start packing again! And now of course I must clean since we are going to have vistors tomorrow...

Pretending to work
Sitting at work...I'm a very good employee huh? Just listening to the silence and the type on computers of some coworkers as they try to keep themselves awake. Sometimes I think it is torture...those of us who work 3rd shift. I mean, normal people are asleep... I'm sitting here watching some girls sleep! Well that sounds creepy. But the fact is that I have to sit here all night making sure these girls don't do anything while they are all snuggly warm in their beds. Ba-humbug!
On other news...I'm ready more than ever to get out of Carrollton. I mean it's coming. Or at least I'm praying everything will work out right. We started packing up (and throwing away!) some stuff today. We got all the little stuff from the office all put up. It's amazing how much stuff we have! After we moved into this house...I hated it. I didn't want to put up pictures or anything bc I wanted to move out. I figured this was just a short term living situation. I mean I guess almost three years is short term, but it feels like we've been here forever! But the amazing part is, that even though I didn't want to make this house a "home", it happened anyways. All the little knick knacks we have all over the house. The pictures we ended up putting up. Even the walls that we painted...it made it home.
I'll be sad to leave this place. Sad because it was the first house Daniel and I ever lived in together. But on the flip side, Carrollton to me is related to college and I'm passed that stage in my life. Every where I go in Carrollton I seem to be surrounded by people younger than me and I'm tired of it. I'm ready to be with people more my age. People who can relate to me more. I'm ready to find a good church. I'm ready to move into our first house. Ready to start a family.
On Friday we were told that we are waiting for the house to get appraised. Not sure what happens after that...but I'm ready.
Whatever happens, happens. God is in control. :-D

New Years
So my New Years Resolution:
I want to read the Bible.
Stop cussing.
That's it. I'm not going to say that I'm going to lose weight...I've tried that one and failed many times. I'd rather just be happy with who I am.
I hope everyone has a wonderful year!!
